Miserable

It started out on Sunday night as a runny nose...a typical cold. Something I had managed to avoid for months and months. But now I've been hit hard. HARD. Going on day four of feeling AWFUL. I have the worst sinus headache, painful sinuses, runny but at the same time stuffed up nose, and watery eyes. I look like shit. I feel like shit. Oh this sucks. I'm being a total whiner and complainer but I just need to vent right now. My Naturopath has given me lots of suggestions, but the only thing I have on hand is cayenne. So I just drank a cayenne infused glass of water. And now I am going to bed. Because when sleep comes is the only time I feel somewhat better.

And yes, it has been suggested to me that I may need antibiotics, but if it's viral {which 99.9% likely it is} that won't do any good.

So for now I will wait it out and hopefully kick this virus' ass SOON.

Any other tips on how I can accomplish this would be more than welcome.

  1. Have you tried a neti pot? They are pretty awesome. If you don't have one on hand you can probably rig something up with anything that has a spout you can pour in your nostril :)

I tend to hit illnesses with every OTC med I can because I am a wimp. I hope you find something natural that will help!

  2. I actually just got a neti pot today, hoping it relieves some of this awful pressure. I too would hit the OTC med willingly, but since I'm pregnant can't really do that :-( Did some research the last couple days and the jury's out on decongestants...uggg I wish it was not so complicated! Anyways I do have an appt with my doc tomorrow so we'll see...maybe I will have to take the antibiotics since the pressure and pain and god-awfulness are getting worse.

  4. I'm so sorry you're feeling like this.
I wish I had some great idea... Netti pot is good.
Being pregnant makes it so much more intense.
Hot/very warm cloths across the bridge of your nose might help with that pressure. Maybe with some eucalyptus in the water warming the cloth.
I hope the doctor can help.
It will pass. Sleep as much as you can.
