Letters and Words

It seems like all of a sudden Maddie has become very interested in writing and all things letters! I am so proud of her! And I really want to harness her interest and make sure she continues to have this interest and love of learning. Below is a picture of a self-made activity she did. All on her own she drew lines and wrote these words. She asked for help on writing "Mittens", but all the rest was done solo. I think it's so neat to see how it all develops. We had a parent-teacher interview a couple of weeks ago and her teachers said at this age kiddos tend to write in capitals and to make some letters backwards...and it's true! Too cute. Her teacher sent a note home saying they are going to be starting more work on reading. I hope Maddie enjoys this too. I really am going to make sure I spend time with her each day doing some fun writing exercises, because she just loves it so much and I want her to know and feel that I can enjoy it with her too.
