Last night Maddie woke up after having been asleep for a couple hours. Ken went in to see what was up...it turned out she had a nightmare. In a sleepy voice, she said, "Daddy, I had a nightmare." Ken replied, "Oh I don't like nightmares...are you OK?" She said she was and then the following convo happened...
Maddie: "Why are they called nightmares?"
Ken: "Because they are bad dreams that happen at night."
Maddie: "But what is 'mares'? They should just be called bad night dreams"
Ken: "You are right Maddie, that would make more sense. Now, go back to sleep."
And she did.
Oh the inquisitiveness, I love it!
