The cutest thing...

This morning I was tired. Not because of Maddie, but because Ken woke up at 6:20am and of course I woke up to. I couldn't get back to sleep, and then Maddie woke up at 7ish to nurse. I was hoping she would go back to sleep, and she showed all the signs that she might. But when I put her in her crib she only played. She sang, and babbled and rolled around. After a while, I very tiredly walked in and got her and brought her into bed with my while I pumped. She was laying down and had the sheet pulled up under her arms. After a couple minutes she discovered the sheet and began chewing on it. I decided to play with her and said, "Peek-a-Boo!"Immediately she brought the sheet up and covered her face! She was squirming with delight! I could see her little body wiggling but she was silent, as if saying, "Oh Mommy's never gonna find me!" So I said, "Where's Maddie...!?" She quickly pulled the sheet down and showed me her smiley face! We did this for a few more minutes...I was completely lost in her cuteness. She had played peek-a-boo with us before but she always started it and then we would play along. This was the first time I only said the words to her and she knew exactly what to do. That amazed me. It refreshed me and gave me energy to start the day.
